  • Dr. Shawn Koppenhoefer has joined us to help with all things Informatics.
    Jan 01, 2014 – Shawn Koppenhoefer studied computer-science here at the EPFL, obtaining his Ph.D., under the supervision of Prof. J.-D. Decotignie, in 1996. He studied computer communication protocols and contributed to the mathematical understanding of synchronous time-critical control systems. He will be helping us out with all things network and computer related, as he is a wizard with problem-solving under Mac OS X, servers, and networks. Good to have you with us, Shawn!
  • Dragana Paripovic has started as a PhD student.
    Dec 02, 2009 – Dragana Paripovic, born in Belgrade, Serbia, has finally managed to take all bureaucratic hurdles and started as a PhD student in our group. Dragana finished her MSC in Organic Chemical Technology and Polymer Engineering at University of Belgrade, Serbia, with a Master thesis in the group of Prof. A. Dieter Schlüter at ETH Zurich. Good to have you with us, Dragana!
  • Liang Su has joined the group as a PhD student.
    Oct 03, 2009 – Liang Su, Chinese national, has decided to continue her research project in our group as a PhD student. Su received her Bachelor of Engineering from Tongji University, Shanghai, China, before she came to ETH Zurich, Switzerland, for her Master studies. She completed her MSc with a Master thesis in our group on the topic of biomimetic materials from poly(isobutene)-oligopeptide conjugates. She will continue her investigations in this field. Welcome, Su!
  • Roman Marty has become PhD student in our group.
    Oct 03, 2009 – Roman Marty, Swiss national and student of ETH Zurich, has become a PhD student in our group as of October 1, 2009. Roman finished his MSc at ETH Zurich with a Master thesis at Hoffmann-La Roche AG, Basel, Switzerland and has worked in our group as a postgraduate researcher in 2009. All the best, Roman!
  • Damien Rolland has started as a PhD student.
    Oct 02, 2009 – Damien Rolland, French national from Lille, has joined the group as a PhD student as of October 1, 2009. Damien studied at the prestigious École Polytechnique, Paris, France. After finishing his Master thesis in our group in February 2009, he received a Master degree from both École Polytechnique and ETH Zurich. Welcome, Damien!
  • Dr. Ruth Szilluweit has joined the group as a postdoctoral researcher.
    Sep 05, 2009 – Dr. Ruth Szilluweit, born in Wiesbaden, Germany, has started as a postdoctoral researcher in our group earlier this month. Ruth Szilluweit studied chemistry at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany. She obtained her Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Claudia Steinem at the Georg-August-University Göttingen, Germany, in 2009. Her research in our group will be focused on the characterization of novel nanostructured carbon materials.
  • Holger Frauenrath received the European Research Council (ERC) Award.
    Jun 22, 2009 – Holger Frauenrath has received the prestigious European Research Council (ERC) Starting Investigator Award and Grant.
  • Stephen Schrettl has joined the group as a PhD student.
    May 01, 2009 – Stephen Schrettl, originally from Munich and student at FU Berlin, Germany, has successfully completed his Master thesis in our group, and decided to join us as a PhD student. Congratulations and Welcome, Stephen!

    Mar 15, 2009 – Emmanuel Croisier, a Suisse national and student of EPFL, has decided to join the Frauenrath Research group as a PhD student. Welcome, Emmanuel!
  • Holger Frauenrath has been appointed as a professor at EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland.
    Nov 15, 2008 – Holger Frauenrath has been appointed as a tenure-track assistant professor at the Institute of Materials of the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, where he will start the new Laboratory of Macromolecular and Organic Materials beginning on January 1, 2009.
  • Holger Frauenrath received the Reimund Stadler Award of the German Chemical Society.
    Sep 30, 2008 – Holger Frauenrath has received the Reimund Stadler Award of the German Chemical Society (Gesellschaft deutscher Chemiker, GdCh) in recognition of his recent works.
  • Tobias Hoheisel received the prize for the best poster at the SCS meeting.
    Sep 12, 2008 – Tobias Hoheisel has received the prize for the best poster in organic chemistry at the Swiss Chemical Society (SCS) Fall meeting 2008 in Zurich.
